Micro/nano(bio)encapsulation biotechnology

fundamental & experimental, applied research. We produce microcapsules & microspheres with/without functionalization used as “vehicles” with controlled release of medicines and antioxidants at cellular level. We have experience on natural support matrices to built for microcapsules, microspheres or molecular microcontainers by different techniques, according to the application and aggregation state (liquid, gas or solid) of encapsulated agent.

Research and services in Biomedical Metabolomics

integrated evaluation by non-invasive metabolomic targeted analysis of blood, urine or saliva for early diagnosis based on molecular biomarkers, using high-performance techniques (HPLC-PDA, LC-MS, GC-MS, Raman and FTIR spectroscopy), some of them in collaboration with dept. Biochemistry at University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (USAMV) Cluj-Napoca. Soon, we can provide the most advanced metabolomic fingerprint by UPLC-QTOF-MS/MS analysis.

Based on these measurements we are able to realize untargeted metabolomic fingerprints, targeted metabolic profile including new biomarkars discovery, to elucidate metabolic pathways, to identify diseases in different stages and to evaluate the influences of diet, medicines or nutraceuticals on your metabolism. All data  are processed by specialized software, compared with data banks. followed by a chemometric  interpretation (PCA, CA or PLS analysis).

Experimental biomedical research, based on microimaging by in vivo ultrasonography on small animals

with or without contrast agents. The High resolution in vivo ultrasponography on small animals is done by the advanced equipment VEVO 2100 which allows  image interpretation and quantitative evaluation.

We can provide complex studies (by metabolomics combined with interventional imaging) on small animals is able to compare the bioactivity of different synthetic or natural molecules, nanoparticles included in different vehicles  in vivo , useful for further human clinical and paraclinical investigations.
