Our Vision
Systems biology will revolutionize the practice of healthcare in the coming decades, molecular medicine being yet largely reactive.
The last scientific advances in molecular imaging based on ultrasonography and biomedical metabolomics, combined with nano/bio/technology tools, provided expanding knowledge and elucidation of biochemical mechanisms in of living organisms (from microorganisms, microalgae, to higher plants, animals and humans).
Finally, we try to understand the human disease evolution as a molecular cascade (from an early diagnosis to a targeted therapy and accurate monitoring of evolution). Small or big molecules may reflect a normal or pathologic metabolism, communication, repair and growth, essential functions of systems biology.
We believe in P4 medicine (Predictive, Preventive, Personalized and Participatory) as a clinical face of systems medicine, using blood a diagnostic window for viewing health and disease for the individual, providing new approaches to drug targeted discovery, with ertain effects on social and economic life(http://www.systemsbiology.org/p4-medicine)
Our mission
integration of scientific progress & Innovative technology for your early diagnosis and best molecular therapy
BIODIATECH Centre (Research & Development Centre for Applied Biotechnology in Diagnosis and Molecular Therapy from Cluj-Napoca, Romania) apply preclinical research (investigating the conversions from health to disease at the molecular level, via metabolic pathways biomarkers) innovative biotechnology (combining the advanced metabolomic analysis of biofluids with experimental high resolution ultrasonography on small animals, with the production of micro- and nano-devices for targeted delivery of bioactive molecules to specific tissues and cells, in vitro or in vivo).
We focus on creating new approaches to identify and monitor
- The general metabolic fingerprints, based on untargeted metabolomis
- The key-metabolic biomarkers involved in specific diseases (targeted metabolomics)
- The therapeutic agents (drugs, hormones) used in clinical therapy and pharmacokinetics
- The molecular imaging by contrast-agent ultrasonography (CEUS), of molecular events (tumor development and involution) within the body, using non-invasive procedures and experiments on small animals (mice and rats)
- The application of nano- and/or microcapsules, microbubbles or emulsions, or other functionalized vehicles to target specific tissues and apply targeted therapy on the site…
